How to choose different & call in more positivity

If you ready to choose differently and make some active changes in your life, keep reading! It can be so easy to get 'stuck in a rut', repeating the same behaviours and practices that are not necessarily serving you anymore. Your small daily habits, what you surround yourself with and who you interact with all influences how you feel and your overall wellbeing. Let's dive in to some things to look at to start to make positive change. There are professionals out there who can help if you need feel like you need more specialised advice, which is something that should always be considered on a case by case basis.

Avoid Toxicity

The very first thing that we want to mention is that you should be cutting off those who bring any kind of toxicity and negativity into your life. Who needs that? Who has the time for this? The people that you surround yourself with will have a lot to do with how you feel about yourself. Think about it this way - if you have someone who is making negative remarks or constantly putting you down every time you try to make a change, how are you going to feel? You’re not going to feel good and confident in your decisions. Instead, you’re probably going to try and avoid making decisions in the future because you’re not sure of yourself. Did anyone come to mind when we started talking about this? If so, that’s a sure fire sign that something isn’t right in that relationship. We know that it’s hard, but for your own sake you either need to cut them out, or have a conversation with them about their behavior.

Check in on your job and career

Take a few minutes to stop and check in on your current job and how you are feeling in your career. Are you still feeling fulfilled and that you have purpose?  Have there been changes in your job that you are happy or unhappy with or do you need to make some changes? If so, it may be time to have a constructive conversation with your manager to work through these and set a new path forward. There are some companies who will hire you and provide you with the training that you need while you work. If this is in a whole new sector, you may have to complete certain qualifications, but the company that hired you may well sponsor you through it.

Pick Up A New Hobby

If you need to spark your creative side or have something that you have always wanted to try but never made time, then a new hobby is definitely what you need. There are endless options for you to consider, some of them being more active, and others that you can complete in the comfort of your own home. It entirely depends on what you want to do, what is going to make you happy, and what appeals to you. Think about the things that you like and see if there are any related hobbies that you can come up with. If there aren’t, then that’s okay because you can start looking outside of the box. Trying new things is important, and it’s important that you push yourself out of your comfort zone every now and then. Don’t be afraid to try things that you might think sound a little weird, you never know, you might turn out to love them!

Selfcare, inside and out

Self care, both inside and out is so important to how we feel and our overall wellbeing. This includes taking care of your skin and hair. If you are someone who has changed their hair a lot over the years, you might be ready to go back to the basics. You can find a professional in  transitioning to natural hair color and get started on the process as soon as possible. The point of this is to feel good when you look in the mirror, but also not to have to spend hours on your hair all of the time.

Be your biggest fan

One of the best pieces of advice that we can give you here is that you stop trying to impress other people and be your own biggest fan! We can spend so much time trying to impress others. If you would not want advice from these people, then why would you accept any form of criticism from them at all? Most importantly, why does it matter what they think? If they have no bearing on your life, what impact does their opinion have? The only person that truly matters is you and what you think. There will always be people out there who disagree with you, with your opinions, with your life choices or think that a different path would have been better for you. You need to do what makes you happy, whatever that ends up being, and don’t listen to the external noise.

We hope that you have found these thought starters helpful, and can now focus on some active changes in your life to call in more positivity and fulfillment.
