Putting you wellbeing first means feeling more confident

Prioritizing your well being, looking after yourself and eating well is a different experience and journey for everyone. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to what wellness is how feeling good will also make you feel more confident and more content.

Everyone deserves to feel confident in the body they’re in, regardless of size. If you’re looking to put your well being first and weight loss is one of those priorities, it must be approached in a healthy and sustainable way.

Focus on moderation and not cutting your loves out of your meals

When it comes to prioritising health, you shouldn’t immediately go to cutting everything in your diet that you love simply because it’s deemed unhealthy by society or even by experts. If you’re cutting things out of your diet that you love, you’ll certainly feel that shift in your relationship with food and it’s often a negative one that occurs. At the same time, if you’re a foodie, then cutting things out isn’t going to be so productive in the long run. Think instead about moderating what you’re eating. Look at how much you’re eating in volume throughout the day and consider the right portion sizes and prioritise protein to reduce snacking to help give your body what it needs.

Aim for consistency where you can

Of course, you’re never going to stay on the health and fitness wagon every day, especially at the beginning of your journey. However, the more consistent you can be, the better. Try to find time to get movement into your day (that you enjoy) and to introduce the right food habits so that you’re being consistent as often as possible. It’s often the case that consistency comes with time, and it’s not something that can simply be established straight away. Holding yourself accountable for being consistent is a good way to make sure you’re hitting those daily goals. For certain areas of the body, consistency matters, like how to lose weight in your face, something that can be particularly challenging to do.

Start off small and build up the habits

Consistency is one thing, but when it comes to achieving that, you first need to set the work you do into a proper habit. It’s only by doing things repetitively that they often transform into habits as a result. With that being said, you should start off small and build up the habits so that they’re manageable for where you are at the moment. Throwing yourself into five classes a week isn’t something that’s particularly attainable, especially if you’re going from doing nothing to doing a lot in such a short space of time. Keeping your goals small and manageable is going to help establish those habits that will hopefully result in plenty of success for both your weight loss and the confidence you feel in your body.

Encourage body positivity and stop negative thoughts in their tracks

Talking about confidence and the way you see and feel in your body, no amount of weight loss is going to fix how you feel. The reason is that body positivity comes from healing yourself internally and correcting how you see yourself. With that being said, look at how you could encourage body positivity in the way that you see yourself when looking in the mirror. Identify those moments and be aware when negative thoughts creep in. Stop them in their tracks and instead turn it on it’s head to complement yourself instead. You wouldn’t talk to anyone else like how you talk to yourself internally, so why do it?

Limit your social media exposure

Social media exposure is something you want to limit yourself to where possible because it can be damaging to your well-being and the way you see or compare yourself to others. Remember, social media is merely a small insight into someone’s life, and chances are, there are ways in which they’ve taken photos or video content to make them appear in a way that’s not quite like reality. When you’re finding it tough, try to limit your social media exposure for the benefit of your bodily image and confidence.

Celebrate your victories, however small they may be

Celebrating your victories is important, regardless of how small they may be. No matter how little progress you make, progress is progress! That deserves rewards and celebrations instead of critiquing the amount of progress you’re making.

These tips will certainly help you to feel more confident in yourself and prioritise yourself and your wellbeing.
