Self-esteem is so much more important than we sometimes realize and it is a must for your professional tool kit ladies! When we have high self-esteem, we take the world by both hands, pursue our goals and are more motivated, but when our self-esteem is low, self doubt kicks in and we avoid taking on new challenges because we are so filled with doubt that we don’t see the point in even trying. Sound familiar? There are lots of things you can do to improve your self esteem (and overall self love!)…
Be Kind to Yourself
We all know what it’s like to have that little voice in the back of our heads telling us that we aren’t good enough. If you want to improve your self-esteem, learn how to change it! A simple way of doing this is to, when you catch yourself thinking negatively, stop yourself, say “NO” and change that negative into a positive., Pretty soon, you’ll start to feel better.
Stop Comparing Yourself
Comparing yourself to others is an easy trap to fall into. If you are constantly making progress, smashing goals and achieving things, even if they aren’t as exciting or impressive as the next person’s wins, that’s all that truly matters! Stay in your own lane and shine.
Make Changes
Although your main aim should be to be happy with who you are, it is absolutley ok to make a few changes (without going overboard!) if there are some things that really hit your self-esteem. For example, if you are self-conscious about your teeth to the point you struggle to socialize, looking into different types of cosmetic dentistry might be smart, or if you struggle with always being late, looking at strategies to change this habit. Do what you can and make peace and accept the things you can’t change instead of fighting against them.
Exercise
Exercise is a great way to boost your motivation, build confidence in yourself and get those happy-making endorphins pumping around your body, so what are you waiting for?
Understand that Nobody is Perfect
If you want to boost your self-esteem, it’s worth remembering that no one is perfect (and that is ok) and that includes you! If you’re forever seeking perfection, you’re always going to fall short of the mark and that will cause you to lose confidence in yourself. So, do your best, and foster a mindset that encourages this.
Celebrate the Little Wins
Celebrating the small stuff you achieve in life is a great way to give you a boost. Maybe you finished a project you have been working on for awhile or you followed a really tough recipe to perfection – whatever little wins you have, notice them and most important…celebrate them!
Boosting your self-esteem may take time and a conscious effort but it is possible and it is so worth it!
